This red beryl gem was cut from a crystal that was hydrothermally grown. The same process is used to grow the beautiful "chatham" emeralds. Without question red beryl is one of the rarest gems on earth! The only mine in the world that was producing was closed a few years ago and even while in production, anything clean and 1 ct size was very rare. It has been said that only one woman in two million would ever have the chance to wear a stone of one carat size. Mined stones that are sometimes seen in today's market are extremely small (1/10th carat) and very included and fractured. I realized that the availability of suitable rough of ANY decent size even at astronomical prices was never going to happen! So I finally was able to find laboratory grown red beryl rough crystals with the right raspberry red color and large enough to cut a nice stone. Nice Suite of natural sapphire from Sri Lanka. Blue cushion weighs .44 ct and is 3 x 5, the lavender emerald cut is .39 ct and is 3 x 5, the yellow round brilliant is .52 ct and is 4.72 mm and the raspberry oval brilliant cut weighs .42 ct and is 4 x 5.25 mm.  

Top color raspberry red with hot pink flash! Multifacet brilliant measures 8.9 x 10.8mm and weighs 3.91 ct. Teriffic brilliance. With a hardness of 8 on the MOHS scale, spinel is an excellent gem!  

Excellent Sri Lankan ruby red, has consistent color and fire. Eye clean with inclusions noticeable under magnicication ( insures natural origin).This ruby weighs .68 ct and measures approx 4.3 x 6.2 mm (fits standard 4 x 6 mount).  

Star Ruby has an excellent 6-ray star. This is laboratory grown ruby which has consistent color and fine asterism. Rough is reasonably priced translating to very affordable finished stones. Makes a great gent's stone due to the 9 MOHS hardness of Ruby. This ruby cabochon weighs 8.4 ct and measures 7.3mm.
